Prof. Ir. Dr. Norhisham Bakhary is a Professor in the Department of Structure and Materials, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering from UTM, as well as a PhD in Structural Health Monitoring from The University of Western Australia. With extensive experience spanning both academia and industry, Prof. Norhisham’s expertise lies in vibration engineering, structural integrity assessment, and the monitoring of civil and industrial infrastructure.

His work bridges research and practice through consultancy and leadership in projects involving dynamic analysis, vibration diagnostics, and predictive maintenance systems. He is also actively engaged with VRG Dinamik Sdn. Bhd., a specialist consultancy in vibration and structural dynamics, where he supports industries in diagnosing structural problems and ensuring compliance with performance and safety standards. His applied research in intelligent algorithms for structural monitoring continues to advance the field of smart infrastructure and data-driven engineering diagnostics.
