YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Haji Zulakmal bin Haji Sufian is the Chairman of Selia Senggara Engineering Sdn. Bhd. and a veteran civil engineer with over 36 years of service in the Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia. During his distinguished tenure, he served as Deputy Director General (Infrastructure) and played a key role in formulating road maintenance and performance-based contract frameworks for federal roads.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Civil and Structural Engineering from University College Cardiff, UK, and a Master of Science (Distinction) in Highway Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK. He has authored more than 60 technical papers locally and internationally and remains active in the global road engineering community through the World Road Association (PIARC) and the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA). Dato’ Zulakmal continues to contribute his expertise toward advancing Malaysia’s road asset management and sustainable infrastructure development.
