Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS)

Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Siti Zaharah binti Ishak is the Director-General of the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) and an Associate Professor at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam. She holds a PhD in Transport Systems Engineering from the University of South Australia, Adelaide, as well as a Master of Science in Highway and Transportation Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Civil Engineering.
With deep expertise in road safety, public transportation, and transport system engineering, Dr. Siti Zaharah has contributed extensively to national and regional transportation policy and safety frameworks. She actively serves on multiple national and international committees, including the World Road Association (PIARC), Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA), Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM), and the Intelligent Transport System Association of Malaysia (ITSM). Her leadership at MIROS continues to strengthen Malaysia’s commitment to safer, smarter, and more sustainable mobility systems.
